Event Description

State governments are facing unprecedented workforce shortages due to the expected wave of worker retirement, burnout resulting from the pandemic, and difficulties competing with the private sector. State agencies are increasingly turning toward public sector apprenticeship programs to recruit, train and retain workers. Apprenticeship programs can help agencies access a larger and more diverse candidate pool to meet their short-term need for workers. This webinar will highlight how states are making their public sector apprenticeships more inclusive of individuals with disabilities. Presenters will share examples of public sector registered apprenticeships, as well as policies and practices states have adopted to be model employers of people with disabilities.
