Event Description

The technology industry has experienced a significant increase in layoffs in 2022, with several factors contributing to this trend. From the shift to remote work brought on by the pandemic, to economic uncertainty and market saturation, the technology sector has faced numerous challenges that have led to downsizing and layoffs. Additionally, changes in consumer behavior and investment changes, as well as shifts in company priorities, have all played a role in the increase in layoffs in the industry.

However, we also see heavy investments on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) professions, Artificial Intelligence research in billions by technology giants like googles, Microsoft and IBM. The focus of this conference is to educate young adults, professionals, and employers on the real situation of technology sector, new research and workforce needs in AI space, cyber security and others.

We want to address and eliminate barriers to recruitment, retention, graduation and employment; to prepare the next generation of STEM professionals; to increase STEM literacy; and to create a National Model of inclusivity in STEM for underrepresented and minority populations. As the country continues to grow and modernize its infrastructure, companies in the healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing or even supply chain sectors all depend heavily on technology and will face shortage of skilled workers. Apprenticeship is your proven solution for recruiting, training, and retaining world-class technology talent.

The challenge? Significant talent shortages and skill gaps are slowing employers’ efforts to expand, innovate, and excel. These workforce challenges impact your productivity and profitability.

The good news? There is a proven solution to meet your talent challenges: apprenticeship! It can be integrated into your organization’s current training and human resource development strategy.

Join us to learn more about these proven strategies and hear from State representatives, employers, and apprentices!
