The technology industry has experienced a significant increase in layoffs in 2022, with several factors contributing to this trend. From the shift to remote work brought on by the pandemic, to economic uncertainty and market saturation, the technology sector has faced numerous challenges that have led to downsizing and layoffs. Additionally, changes in consumer behavior and investment changes, as well as shifts in company priorities, have all played a role in the increase in layoffs in the industry.

However, we also see heavy investments on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) professions, Artificial Intelligence research in billions by technology giants like googles, Microsoft and IBM.
