On March 25, the Pennsylvania Apprenticeship and Training Office (ATO) will host a workforce engagement event at the Hanwha Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia, highlighting collaboration between state and federal partners to strengthen maritime talent pipelines across the Commonwealth. Representatives from the ATO will join the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship, the U.S. Employment and Training Administration, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia to tour shipyard operations and explore local maritime apprenticeship and workforce programs. The visit will provide insight into the evolving workforce needs of the maritime and shipbuilding industries, which are critical to Pennsylvania’s economy and national infrastructure. By engaging with industry leaders and observing training programs, partners will see how Registered Apprenticeships support high-skill, high-demand careers. The event underscores Pennsylvania’s leadership in apprenticeship expansion and its commitment to workforce development and economic growth.
