Event Description

IndyGo is excited to host a daylong “junior apprentice” experience. A group of 8th grade students from Christel House Academy West are expected to attend. Participants will take part in a range of activities including demonstrations from current apprentices; panel presentations; and introductions from special guests representing the U.S. Department of Labor, the Indiana Department of Workforce and Development and the ATU Workforce Development teams. Students will learn about the standard attire worn by mechanics and operators and tour areas of West Campus such as the apprenticeship classroom, maintenance garage, operator breakroom and administrative offices. Each participant will receive a certificate recognizing their participation in the experience. IndyGo is proud to be a leader in transit apprenticeships, helping develop the next generation of skilled professionals in public transportation.
