Event Description

Public sector apprenticeships are gaining momentum, but building one from scratch is a different story. What does it actually take to launch and sustain a Registered Apprenticeship Program in a city, county, or special district? Join ILG and the Public Sector Subcommittee of the Interagency Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship (IACA) for a candid, practitioner-focused panel featuring employers, intermediaries, labor representatives, and public sector staff from across California. This isn't a high-level overview, it's a real conversation about what's working, what's not, and what other agencies can learn from those already in the trenches. Timed to coincide with National Apprenticeship Week (April 26 – May 2, 2026), this session is designed for the people doing the work and the decision-makers supporting it.
