First Course NYC Information Session

Learn more about First Course NYC, a program that teaches the skills necessary for a career as a restaurant cook.

If you are interested in joining the June 2026, Summer class, please attend an information session by May 19th, 2026.

First Course NYC is not a cooking class - this program is for eligible New Yorkers who are passionate about starting their career in a restaurant kitchen, and are willing and able to commit to full-time training and restaurant work.

Eight weeks of intensive pre-employment training will prepare you to begin work as a paid, full-time employee in a restaurant kitchen where you will continue to learn while working and earning. The program team and your restaurant supervisors will provide the support and guidance needed to help overcome challenges to success.
