Event Description

Join the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey (AACCNJ) during National Apprenticeship Week for a Fireside Chat focused on addressing the growing teacher shortage through innovative apprenticeship pathways. This conversation will spotlight AACCNJ’s PACE (Pre-Apprenticeship for Career Educators) program sponsored by the NJ Department of Labor, developed in partnership with The Apprenticeship Network and Trenton Public Schools, as a scalable solution to build a diverse, well-prepared pipeline of future educators. By connecting recent graduates, career changers and aspiring professionals to hands-on training, mentorship, and clear pathways into the classroom, PACE is reimagining how we recruit and retain talent in education. Featuring John E. Harmon, Sr., CEO of the African American Chamber of Commerce of NJ, Kwame Floyd, Founder and Executive Director of the Teachers Apprenticeship Network, and James Earle, Superintendent of Trenton Public Schools.
