Congressional Staff Network - New Orleans

Jobs for the Future hosted a site visit to New Orleans as part of our Congressional Staff Network. This bicameral, bipartisan group of senior congressional staff - focused on education and workforce issues - got a firsthand look at how passionate local leaders are collectively building stronger pathways to education, employment, and economic opportunity. 

New Orleans Career Center illustrated how modern, hands-on career and technical education can prepare students for high-quality careers. NOCC leadership, along with four youth apprentices across health care, culinary arts, and the skilled trades, as well as the industry partners that employ them, highlighted how coordinated training and supportive services help young people reach career goals early while strengthening employer talent pipelines.
