Event Description

During National Apprenticeship Week, IEC Chesapeake will be highlighting our Registered Youth Apprentices. Get the chance to come to IEC Chesapeake and meet the HCPSS Youth Apprentices who have chosen their post-secondary path in skilled trades. This year there are 15 Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) students representing 8 high schools in Howard County. School to Apprentice students are high school seniors from HCPSS who have started their electrical career while still in high school. They work 4 mornings per week, attend electrical instruction 1 morning per week and attend high school every afternoon. After graduation, they will transition to full time employment and year 2 of their 4-year apprenticeship to Licensed Journeyworker. They are the embodiment of Maryland Blueprint and highlight good things happening in Howard County. Please come to meet them. Have a photo opportunity. Boast about them on social media!
