The nation’s space industry depends on the development of a highly skilled and technical workforce prepared to address the challenges of today and prepare for the discoveries of tomorrow. The White House National Space Council, chaired by the U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, is committed to addressing the rising demand for the space industry’s skilled technical workforce by partnering with employers and regions across the nation to develop industry-driven workforce solutions. A focus of the regional models is to create a diverse workforce and develop equitable training opportunities that provide a clear pathway to employment. To that end, Registered Apprenticeship programs are one avenue that is helping manufacturers address the challenge of building and retaining a diverse workforce.
Join us in Greater New Orleans to learn about the benefits of Registered Apprenticeship programs and how to develop a program that will create diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible education to employment pathways.
The event will be held on September 6 from 8:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. CT, at Nunez Community College in Chalmette, Louisiana.
Co-hosted by the National Space Council, the U.S. Department of Labor, Greater New Orleans, Inc., Nunez Community College, and Jobs for the Future (JFF), the event is aimed at manufacturers in the space industry, although all manufacturers are welcome.
