The U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship has conducted several live webinars on apprenticeship Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO). These training sessions are a component of the department’s technical assistance strategy to support apprenticeship sponsors in meeting the apprenticeship EEO regulations, which were updated in 2016.
With a focus on sponsor requirements under the EEO regulations, these presentations are available to be viewed at any time – to enhance your knowledge or as a refresher on specific tools and resources. Equal Employment Opportunity Regulations for Apprenticeship: Final Phase-in of Requirements

Effective January 18, 2019, most Registered Apprenticeship sponsors with five or more apprentices are required to implement an affirmative action program, including a written affirmative action plan. This webinar focuses on several components of affirmative action plans, including setting an aspirational goal that 7% of a sponsor’s apprenticeship workforce consist of qualified individuals with disabilities; engaging in targeted outreach and recruitment; and conducting an annual review of personnel practices to ensure the program is free from discrimination.
